The Moomins lend wings to Finnair

The Moomin family have been commuting between Finland and Japan. The characters have been featured on two of Finnair's Boeing MD-11 aircraft that fly to Japan, where the Moomins are proving to be very popular.

The much-loved characters of Moominpappa, Moominmamma, Moomin, Snork Maiden, Little My, Snufkin and Sniff, created by Tove Jansson, now adorn the two aircraft, both on the outside and inside.

“The Moomins have been a part of our strategy to penetrate the Japanese market. In Scandinavia, The Moomins are really well-known, and the response to them in Japan has been great,” says Mika Perho, Director of Finnair's commercial group.
