Tove Jansson's illustrations and books about the Moomins was the basis for a unique exhibition at Formex, Scandinavia’s leading fair for Nordic design, in 2010.
At Stockholm International Fairs and Congress Centre, Bulls Press, in cooperation with Formex, presented an exhibition on the timeless yet ever topical Moomins, on the anniversary of their 65 birthday. Along with the interior designer responsible for the exhibition, Frida Wanselius (of BSK Arkitekter), known from the Swedish TV-show “Room Service”, Bulls created an exciting and playful Moomin world, showing Tove Jansson’s graphic expression in terms of both products and illustrations.
The original designs from the first comics and early books were put on show, bringing the realm of stories into the modern world. The exhibition presented toys, interior design, furniture and more. Images from Tove Jansson's world took a well-deserved place on the stage of interior design, for both adults and children alike.
Tove Jansson's niece, Sophia Jansson, was present during a press breakfast at Formex and told stories of how it was to grow up with the Moomins and the artistic Jansson family.
